Am I overreacting?

So, I'm at Starbucks. The place was dead, and I'm in one of the comfy armchairs. I'm 7 months pregnant and everything in my body is sore. So, two older ladies walk over and ask me if I would move so THEY could have the comfy armchairs. I was slightly offended. Who does that? There is a cushioned bench seat that they are sitting on now, gossiping and talking bad about everyone they must know. Even being pregnant, I can't imagine asking someone to move. I didn't move, by the way. If I wasn't so pregnant, I wouldn't have minded moving. Photo courtesy of: http://freedigitalphotos.net

@cpefley Regardless if you looked pregnant or not. That is rude to ask a person to move. Was there a different comfy chair you could have sat if you were to move? I wouldn't move regardless of being pregnant or not.

I'm sure, or maybe the just thought I was chunky lol. However, I think it was rude to ask me to move at all. If I wasn't pregnant, I probably would have moved anyway.

I'm glad you didn't give up your arm chair, rude old women who do nothing more than gossip don't have the right to expect anyone to give up a seat for them.

That is rude of them. I wouldn't have moved for them either. Some old people seem to think that just because they are old you have to do special things for them or that they can be rude to others. I understand the whole respecting your elders thing but if you are rude to me and don't respect me as well then I am not going to be friendly or very respectful. You earn respect. Its not just given to you.

you would think that they'd remember what it was like. what makes it worse is listening to them tearing down other people.

Why didn't they invite you for a tete-a-tete? Such inconsideration.

I am glad you didn't move. I can't think why they thought they were more entitled than you to sit there.

No, you weren't overreacting. You did the right thing in not moving. Those rumormongers are so rude.

That's really rude of those two ladies and it's not just about the two ladies everyone today just think about themselves and don't care about what the other person will feel.

It's good that you did not move. Whether you were pregnant or not, you were there first anyway. So why would they ask you to move? They were being rude.

They may have figured that it would not hurt to ask. i would never do that, though. i would have chosen the bench seat and just waited you out.

What a couple of entitled blankety-blanks. Glad to hear you didn't move. I wouldn't have, either. In fact, I probably would have pissed them off by replying with something like, "Hahahaha... no." And no, you're definitely not overreacting.

Even if you weren't pregnant, they had a nerve asking. That you are pregnant, how callous of them.
