Happy Fourth of July to all Americans. My plans were to stay home, but when Chip decided to give me problems a couple hours ago, I decided to visit a place I used to go every year when I was a kid.
Bay Beach was the place where the fireworks took place when I was growing up. It wasn't until I was in my teens that they decided to move them elsewhere, first to Lambeau Field, and then ultimately downtown where they've been since I returned to Green Bay in the early 90's.
There have been a few changes over the years. There are now two trains instead of one and both are new to me. The timeless Ferris Wheel is still there along with the Tilt-A-Whirl, Scrambler, Carousel, Bumper Cars, Helicopters, Boats. New in the last twenty years is the Scat, the mega slide, swings, sky beast, rockin' tug, and the Zippin Pippin roller coaster - boasting to be Elvis Presley's favorite ride.
I got pictures of all of it, and will be sharing them with each comment simply because I can't decide which one to put on here to start it, but I think I'll start with the Pavilion. This is the place where Franklin Roosevelt once gave a speech on the back lawn of the Pavilion.
I also found the gift shop and bought a lot of postcards so I'll have something to share with those who I send postcards to either with Postcrossing or you if you want a postcard from me. Just pm me if you want one. I'll have one on the way to you right away.
I would have gotten some pictures from the Wildlife Sanctuary, but I was low on battery, so came home and am now relaxing in the fan on my computer, and it does feel good. I'm very hot.
So the good thing about today is the walk I got all over the park as I took pictures to share with all of you.
How is your day or holiday going? I hope you are enjoying the day.
Now time to interact again. Thanks for reading.

I love the fact postcrossing is spreading, it's such a neat thing!

@Jessicalynnt Yes, a model steam locomotive. Let me see if I have a better picture of it.

@JudyEv Yeah, but I have no idea how to do that. Thanks, there's a few more, but these pretty much show the park, piece by piece.
This is the back of the pavilion where President Franklin Roosevelt had his speech. It's also where we would picnic on the 4th of July and then watch the fireworks out over the bay.

@DianneN As terrified of heights as I am, I've always loved the Ferris wheel. This was the first one I was ever on. One day I'm going to need to take a ride on it again and get some pictures of the park from up on top of the world, so to speak. It's a great view.

Being hot and humid I pretty much stayed in except for a quick trip to Dollar General across the street to get a couple of cans for baked beans (Iwas able to get across and back without having to wait in the mid section for traffic to clear both going and coming back guess most were downtown along the bayfront) Now catching glimpses of one of the firework displays as I type this

I worked for long hours yesterday and now I look like a zombie. I hope I'll be home early later.

We went to an annual event here called Art & the Vineyard where many artists show their wares in a park and food vendors and wineries set up for sales and tastings. It was nice since the temps are in the low 80s today.

It was pretty nice here yesterday too. Not humid like today. It sounds like a great event at the park.
Here's a pic from the park.
