Skills you can learn from video games

When I was a child, my dad told me that video-games were a wastage of time. So, when my uncle gifted me a famicon clone(In India, we had a lot of Chinese famicon clones available for INR 1000, i.e. $25 in 1995) I was delighted. But I still remember, dad used to chase me with a stick when I used to play till late night. Anyways, I feel that you can learn various skills from video-games which my old school dad will never understand. 1. Problem Solving 2. Planning 3. Multitasking 4. Team work 5. Facing challenges and Risks 6. Anger management 7. Stress management 8. A lesson in history Can you add some more skills you think that we learn from videogames?

In playing video games we become mentally alert. Our vision and actions are well coordinated with our mind. We also learn different techniques and strategies.

Thanks for your response. But the older generations could never understand.

@boneysharaon I think it is good if we do it once in a while. But it is not good, in my point of view, if we do it as a habit. Like playing it for many hours every day.
