Today I get to spend my day at home. No visiting with mom even though I'll probably feel guilty that I didn't go. Everyone tells me that there's no reason to go every single day but I tend to ignore them.
My car had to go in for service....you know the old standard oil change, tire rotation etc. so without my car I'm pretty much stuck here at home. I"m not complaining as it does feel nice to know I don't have to go out in this hot weather.
My son in law works for a Ford dealership so he just takes my car to work with him and leaves it there for service and then brings it home tonight.
Talk about door to door service!! How lucky am I

I'm trying to make the most of my free day. So far it's consisted of laundry, vacuuming etc. Seems as if my house has been more neglected than I realized.

@Marilynda1225 Isn't it funny how 'free time' for many of us means doing all the jobs we've been neglecting? At least you'll have a feeling of satisfaction - I hope. :)

It works out well for me as I don't have the stress of having to bring it or wait for it while it's being serviced

I used to work for a Ford dealership so since then I've always had a Ford. I have an Escape now which I love.

@Marilynda1225 The Ford we have is our "little car", the one that we use locally on our narrow streets. It'a s Ford Fiesta, so we have no problems.

We used to live next door to a guy who worked at the local Chevy dealership - he would take our car in for us when it needed service - but we started noticing he always drove home a different car - other than his own. It turned out he was using customer cars every chance he could - he got caught and got fired.

Crazy to set yourself up for being fired for using customers cars. I doubt they would get away with that where my son in law works

NO, he drives a big truck so that's too big for me. I'm happy to stay home and relax. If I needed a car then I'd borrow my daughters

Sometimes staying home is a good thing, time to relax. That is really nice that he takes it in for you and brings it back!

A day to yourself might be a good break. You're lucky that you don't have to take the vehicle in yourself, I've only done that once, as my hubby was at work, but it wasn't my most favorite thing to do. I appreciated the ride home that the dealership provided for me, and then they brought our car back when it was done, we went in the next day to pay for the work.

I happen to be very lucky when it comes to both children and their spouses. They all pitch in to help not only me but each other

It's good to get that regular service done. Enjoy your day at home. It's unbearably hot outside.
