So I was reading an article the other day, and it seems to me that there are more cases of strained relationships nowadays, and the cause is often money. Would you let money ruin your relationships, either family or friends?

It depends on the couple and on what are their goals.

What I can say that money makes the world go round. Some people may say that money is secondary and shouldn't ruin a relationship. But I say without money it's hard to maintain any relationship no matter how strong, deep or solid it was.

I would never do such thing.Money should never be a point of conflict or any breaking of bond between the loved ones.

Nope. Money doesn't mean much to me. I don't care if I am broke or rich. My family, friends, and boyfriend always come first.

My husbands lack of paying the bills is ruining, already has ruined, any respect I have for him. I have them all figured for this week and there is more than enough to pay every one of them. I will not stop nagging him until they are all paid either. Wish me luck.

My husband and I have been homeless 3 times and we are still together and very much in love. Money doesn't ruin a relationship unless people let it. God is the center of our marriage and He always gets us through.

Money doesn't ruin relationships. The mismanagement of money does. In a relationship, there has to be compromise. If two people cannot agree on how to manage money, there will be conflict. I know of a couple right now whose relationship is very strained because one spends every penny he gets and mostly on frivolous items and she has to scrape to get the bare necessities. It's an on-going conflict that goes deeper than money.

@Katlynn That is an interesting point of view! I believe there should be a compromise regarding the couple's sotuation

It's true that most of the time, money is the cause of misunderstanding or breaking of a relationship. But I think, the couple involved should not let it ruin them especially their marriage.

@magallon Agreed! If money ruins a marriage, then it is not very worth it
