How Do You Like To Celebrate Your Birthday?

After busy days in my garden, my husband said I need some good weekend relaxation in a private place with gratifying ambience. How thoughtful of him! So, he took advantage of the Weekend Advantage Promo of a 5-star hotel in a nearby city. The hotel is offering a 20 percent discount for weekend guests inclusive of free buffet breakfast and other inclusions. With this, I think I have to forget about dieting for the time being. Incidentally I am celebrating my birthday on Saturday which is the prime reason why he booked a hotel room for us. My husband knew for sure the kind of celebration that I always prefer. So as always, it will be a relaxing, and very private birthday celebration for me. This is so unlike his birthday celebration preference. He always wants to throw a party for his relatives and friends at home. How do you prefer to celebrate your birthday?

@LadyDuck With me whether be it done in advance, on time or late, the more greetings, more best wishes, the better and happier I am for it means more thoughtful people in my life, and more blessings. Thank you Ana for being one of the early greeters! Happy weekend to you.

That's wonderful way to celebrate anything really .. Just private and relaxing .. I also celebrate quitely .. My husband and I don't have parties to celebrate birthdays.. We travel overseas or interstate and just relax .. Our children are the same.. They take the grandkids on trips .. Amazing how traveling overseas is cheaper than travelling within Australia ..

Parties are fun but takes so much time and very tiring, so a private and relaxing celebration is the best. It is really amazing to know that overseas travel is cheaper that traveling within Australia. How come?

@salonga Yes, it can be very exhausting to hold a party with 20 or more people ... Australians can go overseas for 10 days paying only $800 return airfare plus accomodation, here within Australia, accomodation is about $100 per day plus airfare... And up to $50 a day on food ... whereas overseas, $50 can feed a family of 4 a day ..When we go home to the Philippines and stay up to 4 weeks, we only spend up to $5000 whereas if we go within Australia, $5000 is not enough for 2 weeks ...So yeah, it is cheaper to go overseas ...

Advance happy birthday! I don't want to celebrate it anymore unlike when I was a kid. My mother used to prepare a birthday party for me at home and we invite all my classmates and friends. It's like a fiesta. Lol

I was just thinking that I never celebrated my birthday and though we were raced as Catholics in a Catholic village of Catholic Italy, I don't remember anyone celebrating their birthday. I encountered birthday celebration only when I came to Canada but not amongst my relatives or fellow Italians at that time. I wish you well!

I am not a Catholic and I know many non-Catholics who celebrate birthdays just the same just as I know people who don't celebrate birthdays whatever their religions maybe. It is a matter of preference in accordance with their views. I respect their views and so I respect yours. Have a happy weekend.

I love celebrating my birthday by travelling to a different place. It makes my body tired but relaxes my spirit. I love taking photos and write about my travel experiences. I am not fond of throwing birthday parties. However, I love to celebrate my birthday with my family and all loved ones.

Happy birthday to you @salonga!! I also prefer to celebrate my birthdays out of town in commune with nature. I do not want the typical celebration in the house where you eat food and invite friends over. A simple celebration with my family is enough.

1rstly happy bdayy 2 :) secondly i would Plan an awesome party for friends and family. The only way which I can see to make any party fun and awesome is by having a theme. Yes, give it a theme. Plan out a themed party that is unique and fun.Last year I thrown a theme party for my friends and theme was, Superheroes. It was too much fun to see all of my friends coming in with all superhero character costumes.
