Removal Of Dead Tree

Within the next 2 weeks, we will have the old ash tree removed from the backyard. It is dead for sure as you can see from the photo included here. At the same time, the tree removal company will be pruning some other trees that are getting too huge. We are not too happy about paying that kind of money for removing trees but such is life. There will be 3 men working on this project and mostly for the all day. They will also remove everything and take it away. The yard will be much sunnier.

I also do not like to pay a lot of money for removing trees, but time by time it is necessary.

Yes, we have no choice, but I still would prefer to use that money for something else.

what will they do with logs of wood, will it not be additional income for those who cut the tree?

@marlina I know, I always feel the same as you when I have to spend money in some directions.

At our previous home we had 13 trees taken down - huge trees. Luckly for us the man across the road took them down for free - he had worked in that field for many years and although retired he still did it - some trees he used for himself for fireplace others he sold. We hate to think what that would have cost us to have the taken down.

We have had that property for 25 years and over those years we did remove 20 trees and bushes, the lady had gone crazy with planting. We prefer to pay a fully insured company just in case there is an accident.

@marlina We had insurance so no problem. Any accident on your property is covered by homeowners here anyway, not sure about Canada. This guy did this for a living for 50 years I think he knew what he was doing!

We had 50 trees removed, then had landscaping, then another 30 trees removed, then two years ago, 7 more! We still have a forest, but much more sun. To be honest, I'd like more trees removed, but it is a small fortune!!!!

I have no doubt about the removal of trees costing a fortune. You had 87 trees removed!

@marlina Yes, and really would love more down, but my husband doesn't want them to ruin our new lawn.

Yes, broken branches can kill.

Fallen twigs scratch. Fallen branches give a concussion or a sleep. #notsalty

You can always plant a new tree to replace the old.

Did you lose your mountain ash tree to the ash beetle? We lost a tree to that infestation about 15 years ago, they are such pretty trees.

Yes, Julia, this is exactly what it is: ash beetle. The tree guy said that they have been removing a lot of them this year.

I can imagine with the trees removed that the yard will indeed be a lot more sunny.

Getting a tree removed is expensive, but if you let it go, eventually it will come down. It could do a lot of damage.

That is what we are afraid of: breaking branches during a bad storm.

I need to have a tree removed too, that is really tearing up my myard, as the trunk is really going crazy. It is a bad tree anyway, so I will have to call around and find out what they charge and get an estimate. I am sure it won't be chedap, as things like that usually aren't, and me being on a fixed income, even makes it worse yet.

It may be expensive, but it's a lot easier than doing it yourself. Having them remove everything will be nice too. Enjoy the sunnier yard when they're done.
