I probably won't be on line much tomorrow morning as I have to be in another town by 8 am for a PET scan. I mentioned to the cancer doctor about the pain I have been having on my right side and the cat scan really didn't show anything there but a small spot around a bone on my side so he said it could possibly be cancer hiding in that bone and a PET scan would show it whatever is going on. When he touched me on the side there I flinched and he said yep something is going on there. Anyway it might be a few weeks before I hear anything as he wants to present it to the other doctors in that group. They all get together once a week and present their cases. I agree with @Asylum, I also think that a MRI would have been more appropriate, but surely your doctor has a reason if he wants to perform a PET scan. I hope it's nothing serious. Let us know.

@LadyDuck I had a cat scan just a little over a week ago but the PET scan shows more as it scans the whole body not just one area. Thanks I won't know anything for a week or so.

I would have expected an MRI to be the choice, but obviously your doctor has more understanding of this than I do. Whatever the test, I only hope that the outcome is good.
