My Love Affair has ended with someone TOO FAR AWAY!

July 7, 2016 9:28pm CST
I was on an LDR (Long Distance Relationships) for over 9 months and we ended it this week! I guess we both needed to end it. Specially me. I am having a lot of difficulties and I needed some fresh air. I think I just needed to be myself for awhile and never minding about being single. It is just so sad that we really haven't meet in a real world. 9 months of Skypeing was a heck of an experience. What about you guys, do you have the same experience when you fall in love and fall out of love ONLINE? Thanks!

Hard to like a post like this. So sorry your relationship had to end. It might be for the best as LDRs are really hard to maintain. Never had an online LDR. I doubt if I will. Not my cup of tea.

@unisa000 I guess it isn't meant to be. Not all LDRs work. Some end up together, others just fall apart.

I am sorry about what happened in your relationship. I think that for an LDR to work, you should set a goal seeing each other at least once or twice a year. I am also in an LDR relationship for almost 3 years now. We met in a languge site and became good friends. I met him when I was still studying for my Masters. His first visit was when I graduated from my Masters. We met at least 3 times a year. At present, 2 times a year will be our maximum meet up because we love to travel together. So, instead of visiting me often, he just prefer to save money. We just decided that when we both have our holiday, we will go on a trip abroad.

@unisa000 Thanks Rommel! But just like other relationship we have our ups and downs too. We once broke up. I never thought we could be together again after that. I am glad that it just made our love for each other stronger. I think that if you do really love a person, you will fight for that love especially if you know that the other person loves you very much too.

That is the ideal LDR.

I am sorry. But it is true that the long distance relationship is too difficult to maintain. At least one of you have to make the sacrifice sooner or later since in a long term you shall consider how to keep the relationship. Obviously a long distance is not so practical.

It is just too difficult. Specially if the other has no intention to meet in person

I can't imagine a romance via Skype. The relationship lasted less than a year. So if you feel as though there was no way to make it work, then it is best that you let go and that you let the person go. I'm so glad to see you still here at myLot. I'm tired right now and was getting ready to sign off. But when I noticed you had started a discussion, I popped to Hello! Hello! - And Good night!

@unisa000 - Maintaining LDR friendships like you and me are a lot easier, huh?

Thanks a lot for responding my topic. It has been a few days since my last visit here. LDR is such a difficult battle, unless of course if there is a real meeting, person by person. Good night too!
