White Privilege? Can we stop Please?

I woke up this morning and got on facebook to find that another man lost his life today. I refuse to watch the video on the incident, atleast for the time being. I wasn't even going to remark on this incident but then I walk into the kitchen and there has been a shooting in Dallas. An old school friend posted on facebook today about White Privilege and went on and on with ranting over it. I just shook my head and stopped reading after a few lines. This shouldn't divide us. What happened to that man today was wrong, all of these shootings have been horrid. Regardless of the individual situations, people have lost their lives and we shouldn't forget that first and foremost. However, we shouldn't let the media coverage divide us. We shouldn't let hearsay divide us either. I don't care what your heritage is, your life matters. Your choices may seal your fate, but your life should never be taken from you by another's hands. The police and their trigger fingers need to be checked. I realize that there are protocols for their own safety but obviously there are people within the force that are misusing these privileges and misrepresenting their brothers in law. However, a man died today. I don't care who he was, what he may have done in the past, and why he was stopped today. What I do care about his family and friends who have lost their loved one. What I do care about is justice for this man. What I don't care for is the mass hysteria that this incident has caused. Yes, people should be informed, people should be weary. However, it helps no one for the public to go in uproar. Have past riots not been enough to show this? Respect the life lost today by not joining these riots. Keep a clear mind, violence is not the answer.

Agree with you. Violence begets more violence. We must learn to look pass our skin color and realize that we are part of the same human race.

It's sad all of the senseless violence that has been going in the recent weeks.

@ScribbledAdNauseum "Recent weeks?" Try "a few years" ma'am... Sad thing these jerks are looking for an excuse to shoot somebody, preferrably a black or hispanic somebody given our statistical likely hood to be crminals or have past crminal records... But I'm over this somewhat... I expected very little from humanity for eight years, why now should I expect any better after this? As far as I'm concerned the people who committ these acts deserve the fate of those they murdered, except they should be butchered like the senseless cattle they are. Because as far I'm concerned they lost the right to be deemed "human" a long time ago.

I agree. It doesn't matter what race the man is, was but a human being was lost!

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah! But many are not going to think of it like that which is the sad part.

Exactly. I believe in One Race. We are all just trying to survive.

You have spoken clearly and well. I will point out that it was not one race killing another race, it was one man killing another man. It should not happen.

@GardenGerty Thanks a lot ma'am, you've inadvertently pointed out the utter stupidity of this situation... Kudos...

No, it sure isn't. Some people want to go out big, think violence is the way and then whiimp out and kill themselves. Pathetic.

We must stop this "one group of lives matter more than others." Either ALL lives matter or none do. Sadly, this country seems to have adopted the latter option.

I hate to say this but it irritates me to no end when slavery is brought up after things like this happen. I've heard about it so much lately. What our ancestors did should not persecute us. None of us, no matter our race or religion. All lives DO matter and none should be so violently taken away.

@ScribbledAdNauseum -- I agree. There is no one alive who either owned a slave or was a slave. How many Jews own Volkswagens? How many Americans own Japanese cars? Those much more recent atrocities have been forgiven, and we do have survivors of those awful events still living.

@FourWalls So you're saying we should stop "black lives matter...?" Well considering that it's just enslavement over our minds, I agree... But you've seen me say this already:"They won't because they can't. Our Goverment is filled with old rickety white folks who grew up in an age where blacks and other minorities were less than dogs to them. And they're trying to keep it that way..." See I'mma be honest with ya, the examples you gave of how this world has changed, from what I've seen is why the political hugbox fights against the grain. They can't handle the fact that they're getting left behind hence the guise of "Political Correctness" so as to appear to have caught up. Meanwhile all this crap goes down and they have this "black lives matter" crap to keep my kinsmen good and angry and inefficient towards society. I'd say the old codgers running our government need to die out before this country can grow, but I'm not that dumb. Because I know their descendants and the puppet supporters they've raised with thi type idiocy will take their place. And some of these neanderhals are my age.

People are all the same inside. Why the violence against each other. That is so wrong.

Exactly! No matter what we look like, or what our religion is, we are all just humans trying to get by in life.

I am really saddened by all the shootings and deaths that have been occurring. I am not a racist by any means and have many black friends and friends of different ethnicity, but the media neglects to report all the white people gunned down by cops too. It is not a "white" privilege. This media hype on #Blacklivesmatter is getting ridiculous. #AllLivesMatter!

I agree. But there aren't any reasoning with those kind of people though.

If only everyone regardless of race or color could get along together. I see it in years to come when we are all one race, Marriages today occur between races frequently and all the coming children will be the same. that's the only way it will stop. We who are living today will not see it, but I feel the time is coming.
