Has the World Gone Crazy?

It seems to me that the news has gone from bad to worse.
Two young, black men were killed by the police this week, when they were not resisting arrest or committing any crimes.
Ten police officers in Dallas, Texas were shot by a sniper during a Black Lives Matter protest. Three of the officers have died, as of the time I am writing this. Three more are in critical condition.
Suicide bombers have blown themselves up in a variety of locations in Europe and the Middle East. Some of them, like the ones in the airport in Turkey, used automatic weapons before blowing themselves up.
North Korea is getting closer to having missiles that could reach the U.S. with nuclear weapons.
Great Britain voted to leave the European Union, thereby putting the rest of the world at risk of a recession. No one in Great Britain seems to have a clue what they should do next.
The Zika virus has exploded around the world, causing countless families to give birth to babies with horrible birth defects.
And, here in the U.S. political campaign? Our candidates are talking about the shape of stars in Tweets and why the Secretary of State should not have used the same email server as her husband ... who just happened to be a former President.
As for our Congress? While they argue with each other for hours over obviously political reasons, they are refusing to work on the Social Security shortfall, fund Zika research or do anything else that could actually make them proud to be serving in the government.
I think the world has gone crazy.

Yes, the world have become crazy. Last week, nine Italians have been tortured and killed by a commando of fanatic Islamists in Dacca (Bangladesh)? I do not even believe that this was in the newspapers around the world. They have cut their arms and legs and let them die slowly before finally cutting their throats.

The news is all around us ... on Facebook, Twitter, television, the radio, etc. You cannot get away from it.

I removed all news programs from my DVR and Favorites pages on my computer and iPad. This has helped enormously.

@FourWalls Really? Really...? Really?! That's your "short answer?" These events don't seem suspiciously ominous to you? Really?

Yes, it appears that the world is nuts and we are a part of it, sadly

I do not believe "the world" is nuts. I believe the media is focused, obsessed with those who are nut or doing horrible things. We need some balance. Most of the world is wonderful.

@ElizabethWallace Bad news sells for the media to get us to watch their shows. You know the slogan "Squeaky wheels get the grease."

@DeborahDiane it does look like the world is slowly destroying itself. I try to not watch as much news these days because of all the violence and craziness going on each day. Yes, the world has gone crazy.

The media focuses on the bad, they ignore the good. It gives us a stilted view of the world and encourages violence and hatred.

I stopped reading at the second line. I am avoiding "bad news". Yes, the media has gone crazy. They should be indicted as co-conspirators in most of these crimes. Their coverage is encouraging unrest and violence. Their focus on the "bad guys" and giving less treatment to the heroes and victims is unethical and counterproductive. Except, they do this to increase their bottom line. I, for one, am protesting by not watching or reading the news. It had made me happier. I know bad things happen, I just don't need a steady stream of them from the media. No one does.

It all goes back to the peoples' point of view. Example European countries conquered South East Asia in the 19-20th century. To the European, the occupation was a benefit to them because they get to extract the natural resources from the lands but the locals treat them as the 'bad guys'. So it all comes down to the peoples opinions and it affects what they will do.

Whatever happened to religions teaching people to "forgive" and to "love one another"? Everyone just seems full of hatred and anger.
