Recently, heavy rainstorms has hit many provinces around the mid and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, resulting in the collapse of 41000 houses and the death of 128 people, still worse, the numbers keep going up.
I lived in Changzhou city, Jiangsu province, The area has also been affected by rainstorms. Continuous rainstorm made the underground parking of my residential zone submerged, My neighbour's pet which was usually locked in a cage in the basement was drowned, what a pity!
I donated some money to help combating floods and the disaster-relief work. Hope everything goes well.
When facing the natural disaster, humans are so small, yet with the hope to survive and efforts to rebuild our home, humans are so great. If the whole earth is overwhelmed by floods oneday, will the Noah's Ark appear and who can be saved?

@Sun7788 today the Philippines attacked an island held by the Chinese. Is this the start of World War 3?

Something worse happened according to news reports, in Anhui province, six thousand pigs in pig farm failed to be evacuated because of health and antiepidemic restrictions. The feeders had to say goodbye to them, double loss of emotion and economy, how said!

I think the only practical way to avoid floods is either built a second floor w/c can be you permanent home, or settle on a city that's never been affected by floods.
I've donated some back in 2013 when we suffered haiyan storm. I think it's best if people starts having a boat home these days.

@Letranknight2015 Good idea, as the world faces the crisis of global warming, a floating living style will be the trend in the future. If a floating city can have some power equipment, it can travel some other places, amazing!

Nanjing Province was under water. My friend's house was half under water. They sent me photos of a school of fish swimming past their window!
Down here, we have a series of locks all along the river to regulate the water level. We haven't had a flood here since the 1950's. Did your government use this system along the Yangtze River also?

I have to admit my country lagging behind in the development of flooding control technology. Prevention is better than relief. I was impressed by advanced techniques of developing countries, Yet whether these locks are suitable for our actual situation, we need to practice...
