I love to read. I really, really love to read. Give me a book, just about any book and I am a happy camper. I have loved to read ever since I discovered that all those funny little marks actually made words. I can read almost any type of book. Yes, I said almost. Sadly, I am not a fan of Science Fiction. I don't know why but, it is what it is. Give me history, romance, murder, mayhem, ghost, and just about anything and I will read it cover to cover. If I start I book I always finish it, even if I don't like it. Why? I keep telling myself it will get better. Besides I like to know how the story ends. What type of book do you find fascinating?

There are some genres I don't like and I've now decided life is too short to read bad books so if I'm not enjoying a book I move on.

@HazySue And do you ever manage to work out why? :) Some are very badly written in my view.

@JudyEv When I encounter a book I don't care for, one of the reasons I keep reading is to try to figure out just how it got published.

I like novels, mysteries, fiction, non-fiction. I love Ann Rule and Tammi Hoag among others and as you say, I always finish a book. I have been surprised when a book I didn't particularly like, picked up and I loved it after a slow start.

@RubyHawk I love both of those authors. I also have found a slow starter may turn out to be good.

@HazySue Yes, when I started reading "One Murder" I liked it. but after a few chapters it turned on me with silly babbling but I read a few more pages and it changed again. It was an interesting book.

@xstitcher I keep on reading in small blocks of time if that is all I can get. I would love to have a day every now and then where I could just sit and read.

@LadyDuck I used to have a good collection of many types of books. Unfortunately, when we downsized some of my books had to be placed in new homes. There just wasn't room for them all.

I love ghost stories, science fiction, non-fiction history, biography, history of science and many others. I'm not crazy about romance or mystery, though I read a lot of Agatha Christie when I was younger.

Just like you I love to read too. I mostly prefer to read about stories written by Paulo Coelho and Elizabeth Gilbert. I love adventures, true stories, romance, comedy, travels. I do not have any hard copies here to read. What I do is I just download books from the internet and read it when I have free time outside or when I am riding in a public utility jeepney.

I also like a variety of types of books. Unlike you, however, I don't finish every book I read. Often I don't even finish the ones I like because I spend so much time online that I often forget about the book I'm reading and after a while I find I've forgotten what it was about.

@HazySue I liked it for some odd reason. Then again I lived in the middle of nowhere so, so when I was able to read something I grabbed whatever was convenient.I think it probably started my quest for knowledge, and why I'm able to spout off random facts.

I like to read too. Not ghost stories and science fiction, though have read some. Historical romance includes, jean plaidy, norah lofts, mary stewart(merlin trilogy),georgette heyer ...actually so many. Lets do one genre at a time. You said you'll give me some authors in the historical romance category.

I won't continue reading a book if I'm not enjoying it. The author needs to capture me in the first twenty pages, otherwise I despair of it ever improving.

I love to read and honestly many times I do not have time. There are so many books to read, but I have no option. Always have an important job and my hobby does not remain quite so long. When the book is so interesting I read for several hours. When part of a series is always the last book in the series I reading it at slowly because I know that the story ends like that.
