Job security.

There is no such thing as real job security these days. In so many states you can get fired for any stupid reason or because they just feel you aren't right for the company anymore.
I myself have been with my job for almost 10 years. When I first started at such a young age I didn't plan to stay there too long. I planned on going to school and getting an actual career job that I would be happy and successful at. Didn't quite work out the way I planned.
My job can be quite stressful at times. I often think of quitting and trying to find another job. My pay is pretty good, so I deal with the stressfulness of it until I can get a job that I know I might be happier at.
I am in no way knocking my company. It has been great for the most part and I have been able to afford what I have needed to along with my husband's income.
I guess my real question is weather or not you have stayed at your job because you were afraid of the unknown and afraid of downgrading your pay? I think that has been my main thing. I also only have an AA for my college degree and at this point in time, going back to college is not fee sable, especially with my active 2 year old not in daycare or school yet.
We only get one life and sometimes I am afraid I am wasting a majority of it stressing myself out and feeling miserable. My passion is writing, but I know that unless you know the right people, are very creative and get extremely lucky, it's not very profitable and can be a dead end job.
I do hope something changes or I get the courage to look elsewhere. I know my current job is not my be all or end all job. I also do not want to end up jobless either with all the responsibilities I have.
Can I stop being an adult for a while?
Thank you for listening. Good evening!

Um sorry I'm a little confused by what you mean? In the US, unless you own your business, you can get fired for almost anything. You are always replaceable.

I hope we all stop being adults for awhile. The only thing I have is just stop working for them, stop buying from them and lets do it ourselves because they do not care. All this talk of patriotism and sorry we have to move our company to another country because our taxes we do not pay is to high. They should try paying our rent on the little crumbs they give us. I get some people are doing good and good for them, but should not be the way for half of any population.

I do like my regular income. It's nice, but with my particular job it fluctuates by season and when the numbers are down you just never know if they want to keep you or not sadly.

There is stiff competition for good jobs anywhere, but if you are qualified, you can have the edge; but as you said, you could not pursue further schooling due to your responsibilities as a parent. You are still lucky to be in your job for 10 years; it is quite a blessing.

If we can only suspend the time and go back to the past hehehehe. Do not quit, others obtain a college degree course, but got no better job like yours. You can apply for an early retirement as soon as you reach the required number of years to quality, and since you work there at a young age, so you can still be young at that retirement.
