I usually take a nap each day just a little one!

I have read some research into this recently which says that one long sleep of 8 hours or so is a relatively recent innovation. Apparently, in past times, when work was more flexible, it was very common to take two short sleeps with two or three hours 'productive time' in between. There are a number of references to a 'second sleep' which speak of it as something with which everyone was familiar.
I often take a 2 hour nap after lunch (because I enjoy the luxury of not working) and usually only have five or six hours sleep at night. In warmer climates than Britain, it is, I believe, common to sleep for an hour or so in the middle of the day and to work later into the evening, when it is cooler.

I'd rather do the 8hrs one but it doesn't seem to happen. Like today I woke up to the sound of mom calling my cellphone. Oh boy. Good thing my ringtone isn't annoying or loud but that was just like what, 4 or 5hrs of sleep? And i've been awake since then. That was a few hours ago. Imma sleep again in a bit. Just wanted to check on people here first.

It's hard for me to take a nap. My brain works hard during the day. so i prefer to have at least an 8 hour sleep every single night.

I don't take naps. I sleep for long hours (9-10 hours).

I actually prefer both if I can do it. I do know that naps can ruin your sleeping patterns.
I can surely need a power nap right now.
