Really us diabetics can get dehydrated more easily than others and
if we do not keep good control of our blood sugar its even worse.
I find that diet sodas are alright but to quench your thirst and
prevent dehydration drink water and plenty of it.
Fruit juices maybe okay but do dilute them a bit with cold 'water as many'
have more sugar then you need. I like V8 juice as its low in calories and
not full of sugar.Get your walks in while its still cool and dress for out
doors if you must be out in the heat.

The other thing I like about V8 and tomato juice besides the lower sugar and calories is that it helps replenish your potassium that you sweat out.

I have a heart condition so i have to stay hydrated also. I drink plenty of water during the day and also like my coffee and soda too. I sometimes don't drink enough water and try to push myself to do so.

Water is certainly key to hydration, and staying in balance. With that said, diet soda is 99% water and can be part of a healthy, well-hydrated life. Today’s marketplace is replete with clearly labeled beverage options, including products with low- and no-calorie sweeteners that are condoned for consumption by the American Diabetes Association, among other health organizations.
