Goliath was defeated.

They said, it is a like a battle of David and Goliath. And the decision is out, David won. Arbitral tribunal favored the Philippines. And China has no historic claims over the island--scarborough shoal. With the economic zone that is the country is following, while the China has the nine-dash-map. Philippines.brought the case to international court. China built a man-made island(destroying reefs) and there are those incidents that Filipino fishermen were shooed.away because of their claim over the island. Now the question is, with China have said.of not respecting or will ignore whatever the.ruling is, what.shall the.new leader do?

With respect, this is actually a political farce with certain countries manipulating it.It is a long story and I can't give full details of it here and don't want to have a discussion about it here.

@changjiangzhibin89 - OK! Nice to see you too. This discussion sort of went over my head. It reminded of a situation that erupted a while back between The Bahamas and Cuba. The Bahamas said Cuba had no business in their waters. I was thinking maybe the Philippines/China issue might be something similar. Anyway, I hope it gets worked out and people don't shed blood over it.

OK. Thanks for your comments. Not being familiar with the topic I was trying to follow the conversation thread, but still didn't quite understand. Sounds like a typical Might Against Right Fight! A common occurrence among many nations. @Lucky15 - For the record though ... Goliath lost the fight against David big time!

Hmmmm let us wait for their statemement, I mean China's statement. I had heard before that they said they will not recognize the result whatever it is, especially if it doesn't favor them.

I doubt china will bow about that. Knowing them. But leaders should think about it carefully before doing so or else there would be a big war between china and philippines which we dont want to happen. Let us all pray that china will think about it and our leaders to what is the possible right decision.

There is a reason for the country to rejoice: we won the arbitration. But there is also a reason for us to take precaution: China is not in favor of the ruling. Our battle is far frim over. However, we definitely do not need another war.

With all due respect to my Chinese friends whom i love and respect very much, their Government's nine dash lie, i mean line has no legal basis. I think all countries should stick to their EEZ and we will have no problem. When it comes to the disputed territories, the status quo should be maintained, that means no artificial land building, declaration of ADIZ, use of force and intimidation, stealing of other peoples natural resources. Everyone should abide not just China, Philippines and other claimnants should respect what has been agreed upon under UNCLOS. All sea ways classified under international waters should be kept free for free trade to flow, freedom of navigation must continue and be enforced by the international community if and whenever possible All this is only my personal opinion and observation

@Lucky15 you can go beyond, why not but treat and respect it as international waters not treat it like you own it or like it's your own personal possession and scare all those who have equal rights to it as you do

Japan,Taiwan, Vietnam and Indonesia were also having the same issues with China. Japan is the most vulnerable because of their small population.

this political manuever may grant us the tribunal's ruling but it is far from over. China is still doing land reclamation on islands that is in dispute. If they want the Philippines to respect the international laws, then they too should have respected the UNCLOS laws that we are bound to protect the marine environment, as such Satellite imagery clearly shows dredging marks on coral reefs adjacent to where China is building artificial islands.........that said I still hope for a peaceful negotiations.
