What do you do when you can't sleep?

I went to bed at 10 PM but could not sleep and so after two hours of tossing and turning I had had enough. So, I got out of bed and answered all my notifications. I looked for some interesting discussions and participated. It is now 2:20 AM and I'm still not sleepy. What do you do when you can't sleep? I prayed. I thought about different things. I tossed and turned. I read a bit of the Bible. I wrote on Mylot. You? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Picture credit: Pixabay

Felix the cat, the wonderful, wonderful cat! Hi, thee! Sorry can't help but sing when I saw your name. Here's my answer to your question...I watch youtube. When I can't sleep, I just lay in bed and watch youtube on my iPad till i fall asleep. These days i don't force myself to sleep early anymore. I just sleep when I'm ready to sleep and when I can't, it's the youtube for me. What do i watch on youtube? Makeup tutorials...they lull me to sleep.

Hi, Toni the tiger! Maybe your beautiful, soothing voice would have put me to sleep and I would have been purring and sleeping. Good that you find something that works for you.

@1hopefulman I'm sorry to disappoint you but my voice won't help you to sleep. It would annoy you so much so that you'd want me to shut up instead.

I don't often have this problem. But when I do, I might get up, have a glass of milk, maybe read a good book. That's what I generally do. Sometimes, I'll just lie in bed, thinking of something nice, like being on a beach by the ocean. That's something I like, but that's just me.

I'm a good sleeper. But in few moments when I find it hard to sleep because of some problem besetting me, prayer puts me to sleep.

When I absolutely cannot sleep I usually get up and read and within an hour I usually am able to fall asleep.

Usually don't have much trouble falling asleep anymore. Usually just pray and meditate. I would go on the computer or read but since our home only has two rooms that would mean disturbing other family members.

I eventually went to bed at 4 AM and I got up at 6 AM. I live alone and so can pretty much do what I want when I want but not that actually do what I want when I want.

Thats a good thing to do, to answer your notifications.Once when I did that in the middle of the night I found lots of new people...something to do with time zone I think. A glass of warm milk with turmeric powder is an age old recipe which works for me.(to go to sleep)

I suffered from insomia a few years ago. My method is to stared at one place without thinking anything for a long time, then you'll go to sleep unknowingly.

I try to relax myself and listen to meditation music...Those delta waves really helps make me fall asleep. It take some practice before you get use to the sound but it helps me feel relaxed then I go to bed.

I can't sleep to at other times but I remember I get to sleep very quickly after a hard day's work. You need to make yourself tired and your eyes so tired so you can fall asleep easily

I have found the best solution of sleeping deniance by our eyes and brain , that is to recall the past, yes i did it last night for i was so upset why cannot sleep and it was almost 12 midnight. What I did, I recalled the memorable events of my life, you know what? I smiled and laughed on bed thinking about what I have done in the past, honestly, I yawned and fall asleep.try it.
