Be Still

Be still,
The magic of morn,
As gold dust descends
On blushes of red and yellow,
Fragrance of flowers enticingly bold,
Chirping of birds and buzzing bees,
Wrap the earth with peace,
Perfect ease,
Be still!
This poem follows the Rictameter form of poetry. Its a nine line poem which follows a strict syllabic structure. The first line starts with two syllables, and increments upward by two syllables for each line until it reaches ten. From there the syllable count decreases until it reaches two in the last line. The first line and the last line use the same words.

I am not much of a poetry person, but your lines are beautiful and interesting information too about the structure of the poem. Will look forward to more posts from you

@Shyamalaa Glad you like them.. I just posted that extra information because for those who write poetry the forms are an interesting challenge to do.

@ridingbet Hey, you changed your name.. Thankfully you have the same avatar. Thanks for stopping by to read it though you don't write poetry.. Talent is something hidden until you give it free reign.. when it comes to the fore you discover it. I am sure you have many other talents.

@sofssu Have you always written poetry? I only started 2 years ago when it was National Poetry Month and people were joining in on Bubblews. I had a go and found that it wasn't too difficult, though I wouldn't call myself a poet. I'm more of just a rhymester.

@crazyhorseladycx The forms are just to challenge yourself.. the free flow of emotions is what I like in poetry.. when you can combine form and free flow its fun.

@crazyhorseladycx I am sure you have much more to your credit than you lay claim to .. I guess I have a vague idea of what you mean.. I am so happy that you still spend time here to entertain us with your lovely animal stories.

@sofssu i fear i aint much fer conformity, lol. the biggest challenges most days jest bein' wakin' 'p :D
'n my younger days though, such 'twas a great passion 'n i penned many a line'n various forms. 'twas quite liberatin' actually. these days if'n i can get 'nough words to make a semi-sensible sentence, i'm doin' good.

@ilocosboy Is it in Tagalog or other dialects? Why not translate and post them here it would be fun and a change from the normal discussions.

@responsiveme I am not a poet either.. love dabbling in free flow and forms as well. Its a way of giving expression to those deeply felt emotions in words clothed with beauty.
