Saving Private Ryan

I haven't seen the movie Saving Private Ryan although what I've recently read in several areas is that Matt Damon was the only actor who was "spared" from the army training before filming so that the other actors would resent him because they wanted to preserve that feeling of war and so and for them to convey that feeling in their performances. I think it had more to do with Damon being a brand new actor at the time (1998) and right before his receiving the Academy Award for Good Will Hunting that they heard rumors about. I would actually like the training so wouldn't have a problem and if not then would still feel accomplished and more like an insider and just be glad that I was a part of the training.

I remember the film. It was well done. I didn't know this piece of trivia, but suppose he should have done the training, too.

I saw this movie. Matt Damon has been acting for a long time. Training is necessary in life. There plenty o ftraining to go around.
