Slow and Steady Wins the Race in Life

So today I met some of the friends from school and some of the ones from college. I noticed that some are gone way ahead in life. And some are going with slow speed in terms of money and other things. Those who make more money end up being happy it seems. Many just go with moderate pace and enjoy the life. Some don't enjoy at all and life happens as nothing for them. So I guess for each person it differs for sure. I wonder if it is true that slow and steady wins the race of life? I don't think so. What do you think? I am sure you guys have seen different in life.

I have to say, maybe from the outside looking in the ones who make more money seem happier but I don't think money brings happiness in the long run to be honest. I have known some really wealthy people who are very miserable in life.

@LovingMyBabies When talking about money it is a bit different from being rich, the rich have a lot of money to throw around, while someone who have money is just to make life a little easier for their family, so you don't have to be miserable in life just because you have money, and it works both ways cause if you dob't have money to do something really important then you be-comes miserable. That's my view anyhow.

I personally think that everyone has their own perception. When it comes to money and earnings, the more you earn the happier you are for some obvious reasons. Its upon the people how they want to live. Some people doesn't work that hard to earn rather prefer to enjoy more. And on the other hand some people work very hard and enjoy at the end.

I did what I loved for a living and I could have made more money somewhere else, But doing what you love is always a plus.

Yeah it's right at one point. But not always slow and steady wins the race is true. Sometimes we really have to bug up our selves and work with speed. Money can make a person happy no doubt in that. If a person is not fully satisfied with his/her salary then I guess that person will never be able to work properly and with full focus. So yeah money makes people happy. After in today's life money is what that matters the most.

I always like speeding up and I hate being slow. The only time I slow down is when I'm on vacation and appreciating the simple life and nature. I think people who slow down don't really win the race.

I worked so hard in my youth as if there was always an urgency.. It worked for me that way.. And I am benefitting now that I am no longer able to work as much as I used to.. I have never dreamt of having a lot.. I just wanted to be financially comfortable and at peace in my senior years .. It's not the amount of money we earn that can give us financial security and comfort, but it's how we manage whatever we earn ..

true that. but for some reason I think increasing market price of things makes living harder.

Depends on how you define happiness.. if happiness likes in material things then you may want to forge ahead.. But having been on both sides... I believe happiness and money have nothing in common.. Attitude and outlook on life is what matters.

I'm definitely in the slow and steady category. I enjoy life to the limits of my financial abilitites and am fairly content most of the time.

There are phases when we go through life as it were a race; that was when we are still young and working for the future; then as we grow old, we tend to mellow and go on an easy mode. Just savoring what we had laboured in the past.

If slow and steady wins the race as far as my earning online, I've been at it now for about 20 years and I'm still not going anywhere---yet I have yet to give it up either.

you're consistent. I have made good money online but the projects were as real as offline jobs. so I can't compare and complain. :)

I would think steady wins the race. I just find in this world it is a bit different. Many People with money (not all) seem not to understand why people who want to do things at their own pace and actually enjoy life. They think they should be more driven and this is what makes people with less money so miserable because now they must conform to a lifestyle that is not for them if they want to survive.
