It's on the news. People finding dead bodies or getting hit by cars. Can it really get this dangerous just playing a mobile game? I've just started playing it and I'm not too addicted to it. What do your think I should do? Please advice. Thanks a lot in advance!

Just play it in a safe place, inside your house or in the park where you won't likely get into an accident.

You're right I suppose... After all, our safety is in our own hands... And we can't blame anyone else for it.

The problem with that is that the game actually requires players to get out and go to specific locations in the real world to do things like get items and challenge gyms. Staying in one place kind of defeats the purpose of the game, and it doesn't really let players catch a lot of Pokemon because they don't spawn at the same place very often... maybe once every 15 minutes or so. It makes for a pretty boring time.

@yukimori so who's to blame for all the accidents then?

Any time you are distracted on your phone its dangerous. Not just Pokemon Go but texting, surfing the web, etc.

It's not that playing the game is inherently dangerous, just that it's getting people out to explore areas they might not have been to otherwise... and a lot of people are dumb enough to not pay attention to their surroundings when they're playing it. As long as you're conscientious about when and how you play the game, it shouldn't be hazardous at all.

I haven't played it an so can't comment. However I have read about the untoward incidents in the news. Just play safe.

It depends. Just make sure you watch were you're going and you'll be fine!

Yes, it can be this dangerous. Any game that involves people wandering around whilst staring at their phone is potentially dangerous. You need to play it sensibly; stop and move out of the way when you are using the phone, and never walk around looking at the screen. Check where you are and make sure you aren't anywhere dangerous, or illegal.

Yes, it could be unsafe when you move around in public with eyes glued to your mobile...
