~Mom Fail~

Good morning everyone! This week has been a rough one, a lot of getting stood up, exhaustion and last night I felt like a horrible mom. My kids were supposed to sing last night at church. They were so excited for it. For some reason I thought service started at 7pm but actually it started at 6pm. They didn't get to sing or see pictures from their camping trip. I feel like a horrible mom. I am guessing exhaustion got to my brain and I just completely messed up the times, Wednesday service is at 7 and Sunday service is at 6. How I got them confused I don't know... Thank God I have some forgiving children...I apologized so many times to them but still today I am feeling awful and guilty. Seeing them cry because of me broke my heart in half. =( So I had a mom fail... Have you ever had a mom fail like that?

I have had many, many 'mom fails'. It is good that you have forgiving children. But really, with all you have going on in your life it's no wonder you get a bit muddled sometimes.

@JudyEv I am glad they forgave me, they are more forgiving of me than I am of myself that's for sure. Yeah, I have a lot going on lately and I am exhausted.

I usually write on my calandar the times I am supposed to be someplace otherwise I would have the times mixed up also. Children will forgive anything.

@LovingMyBabies That is why I write on there as sometimes I forget what time I am to be someplace.

I can't count the times over the years that my children missed things. Now it happens with the grandkids. Never intentional to forget something, but does make you feel pretty rotten.

I bet you could barrow the CD or whatever they took the pics on so the kids could see the pictures and then return it. If you told whoever has the pics what happened surely they would understand.

Life sometimes get moving too fast and it is pretty easy to get your wires crossed. I've had my share of dad fails. At least you apologized and you children could see that you were sorry.

@koopharper Yeah sadly last night I found that out the hard way. Usually I have things all together so this frustrated me.

Failing is never wrong. It is a learning process that should be hugged instead. Acceptance it is. Cheer up @LovingMyBabies !

I am so sorry, you had some difficult days, it's normal to get confused. Do not feel too guilty, I am sure they understand, you are not a bad mom.

@LadyDuck Thank you. It has been a rough week lately. They are so forgiving-I'm the one who hasn't forgiven myself. Thank you.

Cheer up. Things happen. It's part of life. I once screwed up the time for a party and got there 3 hours late. I also wrote the wrong date in my calendar for our friends' anniversary party. Missed the entire thing and felt so badly.

I am sure that was so disappointing for you. I bet you will remember it longer than they do though. I hope they get to see the pictures another time. Take care.
