This was a big surprise. I know that Dandelion is a wonderful herb, but have not known that it it can help for diabetes. One person in Fb wrote that an old man with type 2 diabetes used to cook dandelion leaves until the water turn green and drank a glass every day. He no longer needed insulin!! Well, no harm drinking it or maybe eating the fresh leaves.. Everyone can test id they want..

Dandelions are a wonderful food. Eat some every day if you can. They are good for us. They may be bitter but the flower is a bit sweeter. I have no problem enjoying the bitter of dandelions.

Yup, I will have to find a clean place to pick it - Perhaps it can be grown indoors too, especially during winter?

@buenavida I don't know if they will grow indoors but it is not hard to find out. Take some seeds and try.

dandelion root tea's also used fer various ailments. there's some studies showin' e'en drinkin' such can combat certain cancers. 'course, the 'elders' knew'f this, but modern medicine cannot profit from such...

I guess Dandelion root and leaves and flowers are akaline, as cancer cells cannot live in an alkaline environment.

@buenavida yepperz, that's what they claim anyhow. i wish that more 'd look to the ways'f the elders. less side effects 'n many times an actual cure'n not a band-aid.

That is good. For many years, people have treated Dandelion as a weed rather than a herb. I think when there are more and more people boiling Dandelion and drink it as tea, they will not just destroy the plant as weeds.

@scheng1 Yes, they grow here too.. I would like to get them from a clean place..without pollution. The leaves could be harvested during the summer season and maybe dried for winter, or even grown in a green house or indoors..?? Some may want to profit, and that could be possible of course..!!

They grow wild here. Maybe I should ask my 5 year old graddaughter to cut some for me. I wouldn´t mind trying it for insuline resistance if it helps.

I can't remember hearing this earlier either. I hope it is true, and I would not be surprised if it is. I like to eat Dandelion leaves, if I can find some in a clean place.

Oh, good to know. It will help me a lot, because my maternal uncle is suffering from diabstics. Hope this herb will help him to avoid insulin.

Amazing! There are dandelions growing wild in our area in open and abandoned lots. They are plentiful where we live....Most people think they are a bothersome weed or flower, but as the article mentioned dandelions leaves are nutritional. I'm going to pick a few of them and clean them before adding them to my collard and mustard greens......I might even add a leaf or two to my smoothies.....Great post sis.
