This article caught my attention while browsing Facebook titled "Apparently We’ve Been Charging Our Phones All Wrong"
How do you charge your phone? I charge my phone when the battery is low usually at 20% and I always have "Low Power Mode" to prolong my battery life throughout the day. By having the Lower Power Mode, I can go all day without charging my phone. I "used" to leave my phone plugged in overnight but now I don't anymore because I find my phone can get warm. It turns out the methods I am using/used is incorrect.
How you're really supposed to charge your phone:
- Charge your phone throughout the day (or whenever you have a chance) not all at once like overnight plugged in.
- Don't change your phone 100% full because the high voltage causes
stresses the battery
- Don't leave your phone on the charger when it's done charging, it can cause high stress, tension and ultimately wears your battery life
- Don't let your phone get too hot/too cold when charging. If it gets too warm/hot, unplug.
Suggestions how to prolong the life of your phone:
- Charge at around 40%, never let your battery go down to 0% empty.
- Charge throughout the day in small intervals, not just once through the night
- Keep your battery cool
More information & explanation check out the link. I learned a lot and thought I'd share with you all since I am sure all of us uses our phones quite often!!
Did you know any of these tips?

It can be frustrating when your phone dies halfway through the day, but it turns out a short battery life may actually be our fault. Most of us think we should just charge our phone when it is close to dead, but the opposite is actually true. Turns out, ch

Good to know cause I bet a lot of people are doing just the opposite. Like when I had a cell I had heard that you need to completely charge it the first time. That obviously isn't true.

@celticeagle That's a good idea as it varies depending on phone types, etc.

Ah yes, I wonder if that still applies! I would always be too eager and not charge 100% for new devices. So far, no problems.

I may still charge overnight if I am heading somewhere early in the morning, but otherwise I have found for a long time that a quick 10 minute charge is more than enough to keep the phone going for a long time. Batteries are getting better and lasting longer.

I charge my phone when it's down to 6%. I make sure I unplug it when the charging is done. One full charge lasts me 5 days and my latest charge even lasted 7 days. It's because I've downloaded a Battery Doctor app which helps my phone save and extend battery life. Every now and then, I tap the optimize button on the app.

I'm not sure if it works on all phone brands. I have read all kinds of battery tips but the only thing that works for me and has prolonged my battery life is actually using an application called battery doctor.
I have read several tips on prolonging battery life and each of them have different opinions.

Guilty on this. I charge my phone when it is empty. I sleep in the morning and I can't unplug the charger after 3 to 4 hours.

My mom's flip phone just broke and I converted her to a little more advanced phone but she still does not want a smartphone. She said smartphones require too much charging and features she doesn't need.

The person below just mentioned on the news a home burnt down caused by a phone left charging. Very dangerous and scary. Sometimes my phone feels hot from charging so I guess that isn't safe. I stopped that habit.
