Why do people do not give things they do not use to others?

I have seen people having 100s and 100s of coconut after they have cut from the trees in their house and they do not use it and most of them cannot be used after months and they still would not give it to others. Sometimes they do not give fruits or vegetables that grow in their house that they do not use to others or sell it. Sometimes I wonder why they do not give it to others if they do not use it.

Sounds like unnecessary waste... I wonder why too... Maybe they think it's too much effort to give them away, maybe others around them have too many already as well so no one would accept to be given more, or maybe they have other reasons I don't know...

I think they still have some kind of attachment to it and maybe will give it later soon.

Maybe they can't anyone willing buy them, or want them. Or maybe they don't know where to go to sell them.

Very good observation. I think it is because sharing and giving things is the attribute of the people. Some are good at sharing while some are not. They would throw things in dustbin but dont give it to anyone..

That doesn't make sense to me either. If I can't use something, I happily give it away.
