Dear myLotters there is an elderly man who visit my house often just for spending time and also to read the newspaper for which I have no objection at all. At times, I offer him tea or coffee also as a courtesy. to this extent ,it is O.K and acceptable to me.
The main thing that makes me avoid this man starts when he enters into the house wearing his chappals.
I regularly clean my house. I even purchased a vacuum clear for this purpose. I can not tolerate dust lying on the articles or on the floor. It makes me always cringe. I regularly spend 15 minutes for cleaning the house.
But, this man enters into the house wearing his sandals which are uncommon and even with dust stick at the bottom. He sits in the sofa with legs crossed in a royal pose which really heats up my brain. But, I control myself.Sometimes, I even shut the door. He knocks the door..saying 'Hai...' 'Hello"
Can anybody suggest me how to avoid this man? I can not show my anger at this old man as an educated and cultured person. But, this man is not realizing it.
Is thee any way of telling him to leave the sandals outside the entrance?

@shivamani10 I think you should tell him frankly he should keep his footwear outside before coming in.

I do not find this odd at all. Just tell him but politely that you do not like what he is doing.

One day you just wait for him outside your house and then pretend to enter with him. Then tell him how much you love cleanliness and leave your sandals before entering and tell him you just clean your house. May be this is a most polite way of handling this situation..
