Set a standard so that others will follow. Raise the bar higher.

If you take pride in the things you do and the things you say, then it is possible that your standards are good and others will follow in your footsteps. Your brothers, your sisters, your friends.
Everyone of us has leadership qualities. The moment to rise up and take charge of your future is now.
The world is your oyster. But I prefer peanut butter sandwiches. So my standards are not as high as everyone else. You are unique. You can set your own bar as high as you want it. Only you can be true to your own dreams.
What is Karma? look at this link below:

I know what you mean. I find it hard to live by other people's ways. Most people tend to brag about their own accomplishments and while doing so they usually like to make others feel inferior. I don't follow that way of thinking. I know that others will do things their own way and that is what the American Dream is all about, freedom to just be yourself. Your way may not be my way but in the grand scheme of things it's all about what goes around, comes around. KARMA ya know.

@lookatdesktop Exactly. And Karma is something we all want to avoid. I don't like fake people either. As long as a person is honest, I will get along with them. And yes, no one ever sees eye to eye on everything.

There are leaders and there are followers, not everyone in this world likes to be a leader, this is my case, I am a good vice and I do not intend to set my bar higher. Do you know the "Peter principle"? "..every employee will rise or get promoted to his or her level of incompetence.." this is very true and I do not want intent to arrive at my level of incompetence.

Hmm. I can't say that I am familiar with that principle. There are leaders, followers, followers of followers, leaders of leaders, and there are those who do nothing.

I am allergic to oysters! But being inspirational to others is a different thing.. and no you don't need to be a role model to do that!

I have learned that to be happy it is better to live hidden. It does not mean that I follow the herd : I did my best, but I did not managed to be an ideal son-in-law. I am often putting myself in question, and I know what I am worth, but I do not care to show it to others, and I have definitely not the soul of a leader, although I have been told during all my life that I have some charisma.

Humility is one of the greater virtues. Even Jesus had humility. Mother Teressa is another great example. Humility is actually a virtue I admire more than most others.

@lookatdesktop I just had a chicken on bread with mayo salt and pepper. Did real good as was tempted to just eat it with my fingers. Sometimes my only goal is to just keep breathing.

I want to be more like Jesus as He is our example in the Bible and you can't aim any higher than Him and His characteristics, His integrity, His compassion to the lost, needy, poor, pitifull, and those suffering with starvation who have absolutely nothing. I'm certain I have to raise the bar higher in my life! How about you myLotters? Will you raise the bar? One person at a time can make all the difference in the world. It's been proven time n time again. Pass it on!

@enlightenedpsych2 Yes you are right. For the Bible says in Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

@enlightenedpsych2 I'm glad you agree. I've never heard of Edgar Cayce, sounds interesting. Although I'm not much of a reader. If I read a book it really has to grab my attention. Are you an avid reader?

It's morning time here and to read such posts in early morning can be really motivating. Thank you so much for such motivating words. I am the eldest-born of my parents. I have two siblings. My parents keep telling me to sculpt my manner of conduct in such a way so as to become exemplar for my siblings. They say if I stand tall and become a good human, so will be my siblings.

Being a realist is much better than wanting to achieve an unrealistic goal. There is a difference between trying to fly too high and being comfortable with just doing a good job and living in the moment. Once more I think there are more people who try their best to do their best in whatever job they have and that is admirable.
