Just because his sister is away all summer at overnight camp in Maine doesn't mean my six year old grandson is devastated. No, not at all!
He goes to day camp every weekday, which he has been attending the last four years.
He has spent a long weekend in The Hamptons, a very swanky beach town of the rich and famous, at the home of his parents wealthy, but not famous, friends.
He goes fishing and swimming with his other Pops, takes skateboard lessons, karate lessons, takes two science classes a week, rides his bike, does science experiments, and plays with his friends.
This weekend, he's going to Maine with his parents to visit his sister at camp.
No, he's not devastated at not having his sister around.

@DianneN Oh that's great he's skating too! Does he love it as much as sister does? Wow, that friend's family must be pretty well off . . . their place must be gorgeous!! It's interesting how folks out there seem to have several homes . . . people here seem to struggle with their one (if they even own a home!).

I forgot to mention that he also takes ice skating lessons. Thought you'd like to hear that. Lol! Yes, The Hamptons is a ritzy place. They get invited every year to stay with their friends who just bought a home there. They live in Manhattan the rest of the year. Don't ask me how they can afford it!

@much2say He enjoys skating, but would rather play hockey. He was on the hockey team, but the kids were four years older and too rough for him, so he returned to skating. He doesn't seem to have his sister's drive or talent, but that's okay. He won a first place metal in NYC, and in a world competition in Florida, took a silver! He loves science more than anything.
People in Manhattan usually get a second home to get out of the city. We have the condo in Florida to get out of the cold! Lol!

It is good he is also very busy with a lot of things that any kid will enjoy doing; and very productive ones too!
