I am just curious.
I am just wondering.
What do you think are the basis for these top rated discussions?
Is it the responses?
Is it the topic itself?
Or is it the way we discussed our topic?
I noticed, many of these top rated have numbers of responses.
Some have only one or two responses.
There is even one that is somewhat censored
But still classified as top rated.
Some of my topics were included in it.
I really just wonder.
Do you know the answer?

This is the official line given out by myLot : Top Rated Discussions have the most 'likes' in the previous 24 hours. Hot Discussions have the most 'responses' during the last 24 hours, no matter when they were posted.
You will never see a post with only 1 or 2 responses or likes at the top of either of those lists.

I am also wondering how it lands to the top rated and even the interesting topics... maybe it's based on the number of likes.

@sunrisefan tags? Most of the time I add tags to my discussions. Sometimes they go to the interesting discussions and most of the time they don't.

@brokenbee Is that so? My observation was that whenever I placed a tag (Sunrise watch, cloud watch, sky watch, New Zealand) on my Discussion, it went to Interesting Discussions.

I found out that Interesting Discussions are those that have tags.

I don't pay attention to the top-rated discussions. When I was on the other site before it bit the dust, everyone got their nose out of joint because the same people were always on the front page with top rated posts. I read a post because the topic interests me.

@magallon Okay, I'm not sure what you mean by your question. When I do my notifications, I respond to the comment, or I respond to the post. I then go to said person's profile, read and respond to one of their posts, usually the first one listed on their discussions. Because of the number of notifications I receive every day, I can only respond to one post per profile or I would never see the end of my notifications. So does that answer your question?

I'm wondering too what's the criteria but I don't mind it much though.

I don't recall seeing a top rated discussion that has only two respondents on it, unless it's a glitch or your seeing double?
top rated post are probably post mostly visit and responded to by users
