Have you ever sold anything on eBay? Well I have! I've been quite successful with it. For two years I ran a very successful eBay business and was able to downsize a lot. I stopped doing it because I ran out of stock but I think I'm going to start doing it again.
I'm really interested in that new NES gaming system coming out in November so I think I'm going to sell my real NES games now because I'm probably going to get the most for them right now.

I haven't done Ebay much, but I have looked into selling on Amazon. Still considering it, but I have a lot going on right now, so I probably won't anytime soon. If you had good luck with it, you should totally get back into it and see what you can make.

Amazon used to allow PayPal, at least for purchasing. I was really disappointed when they stopped.

@melanie_a917 I did not know that. I've had my Amazon account for almost 10 years now and I never remember them ever accepting PayPal.

@Bellatricks That's awesome! Having that rating will help you get back to eBay fast since you're a reliable seller.

I was selling a few thousand pounds a year on eBay at one point, but I stopped because it was taking a lot of time and, despite having close to a 50% markup, I wasn't making much money. Both eBay and PayPal individually were making more on each sale than I was, and they didn't have to spend time packing and shipping the items.

@Bellatricks Or to have a really good markup (several hundred percent) for items that are dropshipped.

PayPal is the main reason. Amazon does not work with PayPal, eBay does. Plus I like the whole auction concept since there have been a couple of times where I ended up getting a lot more money than I was expecting because people starting getting into a bidding war.

I've only dabbled with selling on EBay & never thought of doing it as a business. However it does seem profitable so maybe I should think about it

I would really like to sell some things on EBay, but I just don't know how to get started with it.

I actually wrote up a hub on Hub Pages on how to start up on eBay but I don't know if I can simply link it. Long story short, you need a product people want, a good camera (my smartphone is a good enough camera so it doesn't have to be too fancy), a weighing scale (for shipping), time, and some extra money to work with(because you need money to cover certain costs like shipping etc.).
The thing that most people don't realize is the fact that you don't get the money right away. If you are a new seller PayPal will hold the money you make on eBay for a certain amount of time so there can't be a scam going on. This means you need to have some of your own money available to pay for shipping and packing costs.

I have sold on ebay in the past years ago, but hear and see things are not going for as much as they are worth these days. plus they charge you just to list them

Yup that's another reason why I don't do it anymore. I've probably paid them 100s of dollars in fees. It's annoying BUT there's no other way I would have made so much. Like I specialize in reselling old video games, like classic Nintendo and Sega Genesis etc., and I got the best money selling them on eBay instead of to a video game shop.
