Is child behavior better or worse than it was years ago?

What do you think, as time went by, new generations came, people changed and so did kids. This new generation of kids, what do you think, let the technology away, maybe most of the kids don't know about the games we used to play as younger on the street instead on the phones, we didn't even had ones. But in general is the child behavior better? Hum, let's take in generally, the kids from 19th century vs kids from 2000's and up. Give me your opinions i wanna hear! I'll just say today kids have slightly advantage over the kids from the 19th century. That is the Education. Education is great! Far better than it was years ago. The fields of learning have been opened equally to the boys and girls about the world and all the thing that were not even imaginable hundred of years ago. As for the kids from 19th century and before, i'll admit them the ability to carry out things as they were told. Just look at the thumbnail photo, would you really think that a kid from 21st century would accept such a job in that little age? A kid from 21st century could definitely not survive a week alone in the time of hundred years ago.

Hands down the children of today are way crazier than the children in my generation. Most kids today are spoiled and they feel they are entitled.

I think every successive generation gains a lot more information and knowledge, but the seem to lack basic skills.. these skills seem to be disappearing and dependency on gadgets and technology seems to be increasing with each generation.

Yes, today's kids are very smart. But they seem to use their knowledge and abilities in the wrong way

In the US, I think the quality of education has declined. We have lowered our expectations.

In Victorian times the saying was children should be seen but not heard. That's not the case these days. I genuinely believe there is a lack of respect these days among some young people but will make a small point. Around 1913 I've seen newspapers saying how bad the current young people were and how they don't have the old values. Then in 1914 MILLIONS of those young people volunteered to fight. Same in the 30's and in '39 people volunteered to fight. I remember when the first Gulf war kicked off young people were lining up to get in the army and fight....I saw that myself. So, yes there are generational differences and certainly some issues but don't write off all kids as bad

What a great quote about the Victorian times... This should be said to immature kids more often, i'll remember this one when i see a child screaming in front of an adult. See this is why i LOVE myLot, leave earnings aside, you learn many things that will improve your general knowledge. And yes, not all kids are bad. There are certain exceptions. Actually most of the kids are not that bad, only they should learn to value the real meaning of life.

@supervalon there is another saying that goes "no such thing as bad kids...but there are bad parents" I'm not liking that totally but it does have SOME merit as we do see naughty kids coming from bad parenting but it isn't always the case.

Ill make two points: 1) I think the reason there is such a lack of respect is that the parents don't even try to understand their kids. A lot of people in this discussion have already made up their mind about how this generation is like and what they believe in, etc. But, how many of you have actually talked to kids about this subject? 2) in relation to my first point, it's all about perspective. I'm sure that a lot of people would like to believe that they were well behaved as children, but I'm sure your parents would say different, and their parents about them.
