Bless The Person Who Invented Air Conditioning

Happy Saturday everyone!!
It's a scorcher today and I'm not even thinking of going anywhere. I'm perfectly content to stay in my air conditioned house and either watch some television or read the book I started the other day.
My daughter and son in law are out doing the grocery shopping so I don't even have to think about it. It's nice when someone else takes charge and it will be interesting to see what they come up with for our weekly menu. I usually like to make a list, figure out what I'm going to cook each night of the week and then shop. They like to wing it and figure it out as they go. I'm trying to let go of my control freak nature and this is a good practice 
They already decided on having Chinese food delivered for dinner so there's no cooking tonight.Fine with me as it's even too hot to fire up the bbq.

We are planners and plodders! As we eat a lot of cold/raw meals, that part is easy. But the heat continues-

Never too hot to fire up the grill - my husband grills any time, any weather. Of course, we have super grill so food cooks rather fast and the porch has ceiling fans which helps. I don't plan, it's just us and I fly by the seat of my pants most days!

Yes, I am glad for the invention of air conditioner too.
I am happier to have electricity since that is the about the only thing that makes life comfortable, and we can use modern amenities.
Next time when I hear someone complains about bills, I will ask him to switch off his electricity supply.
He sure can save a lot of money, but life is very miserable.

I like to fly by a seat or even a magic carpet, as things magically appear in the cart when we go shopping, lol

Yes I am lucky to be able to turn it on today. It is so dang hot here.
I dont turn it on much as I have downstairs chain smokers and it comes thru the vents yuck.

I sort of make a plan for the week but it is a loose plan and more practical so you can choose what ever you want to eat. Enjoy the Chinese. Great that you are not cooking!

I plan half and wing the other half when we get to the store. bing cherries were real cheap when we went today so i got three pounds of them.

I do both, big things need to be planned, small stuff is by the seat of my paints. I drove to Vermont and couldn't get my air condition to work in my car. My sight is not as good as it was so in the blinding sunshine I had to pull off the road to get it to turn on, it was on but so low it was blowing hot air. It took me a nano second to turn it on high when I stopped. What would we do without air conditioners? SWEAT...

I think we're a bit of both but mostly the latter. We do plan if we're having people for a meal but otherwise we work it out as we go.

It's also hot here from day to night. I have to make the conditioner on for all night though it costs much electricity. As a planner,I like to make a list and do some shopping as listed in the morning.
