Break Even

I'm tired
With this set up
I don't wanna hear it.
You keep blaming
'Bout his errors
Yet to him you still submit.
You weep, you cry
Again and again
He doesn't deserve your tears.
I've seen you in
A thousand breakdowns
It's all the same for years.
You remember me
When you're down
Miserable, depressed.
And take me for granted
When everything's
Abreeze.
Sometimes I wish
I don't exist
Evade this aching pain.
But I'd rather be hugged
And loved by you
For a while I'll be your king.
(Anguish of a worn-out pillow.)

@sol_cee Oh. It's a situation in which a girl / boy has a romantic interest in the other but gets the "Let's just be friends" response.

Lovely poem!
Imagine all the secrets that we have that a worn-out pillow can spill.

My pillow is worn out. Still use it. Not even sure how long it'll be before my significant other decides I need a replacement.

@sol_cee oh no, but if it's a book with more than a hundred pages, I'll read two chapters and go straight to the back to find out what happened ..

You have such a great perspective for the things which are often used but never often thought about-you are very good at seeing what others miss, even if it is in jest;)

@sol_cee you esteem yourself and what you write too lightly;).

Well done!! At first I though you were anguishing about writing here, ie. submit, and your computer keeps freezing like it does for many of us here and elsewhere. I never got to thinking about your pillow though. Glad you included that tidbit.
