I've been working here in our company for about two years. Met different people from different part of the world. Spoke to different people with different attitudes, ages, races, culture & etc. Irate customers are my favorite. Why? All you need to do is to compensate and of course you need to address their concerns. My two years experience, they are easy to handle since you already knew that they are upset or angry??
We are not just dealing with orders or delivering. We are more in delivering emotions. Maybe that's the reason why having a hard time dealing with emotional customers. Yeah, I am an emotional person too. I have a customer here that throughout our conversation she is just crying. What should I do? What compensation should I offer? It was like a dead end, but still you need to comfort her. Then you will find yourself crying too. I hurt so bad to me.

Sounds like your work is toxic, yes?
I was in collections before and it wasn't easy at all. People were irate because we were calling them to get them to pay up. I think I heard every excuse in the book. Anyway, I've learn to detach from what I heard at work. It was not healthy for me.

One time I was very rude to the telephone customer service representative because the cell phone I ordered from them had a problem. I said some bad things and now I do feel very bad that I was rude to the person. I know they were just doing their job.
