I think that every single religion should not search the weakness of other religions in the past. Every single religion had the mistakes in the past. But not all of religion apologize for their guilty. Only several religions (Catholis, Islam moderate, etc.) I've known do it, i.g.: Catholic through Pope John Paul II, Abdurrahman Wahid (Islam moderate).
