Hey guys, I want to know from you all that what do you think which language is easy to learn German or French. Which one would be better to learn. Well I have already started learning french but do you think I should have chosen German.
Actually learning new french words and learning the pronounciations seems little hectic. The German students are saying that it is easier. Oh!!! I have to learn it for the whole year. It's in my course.

I tried to learn both French and German but I gave up. So I guess I'm not of much help.

Though I don't know either of the languages but If I would have to go for learning, I would have gone for French.

German is easier to learn because it came from the same branch as English, both are teutonic languages, English only began to differ after the Norman conquest of England. The Angles were a Germanic people who settled in the part of the Roman Empire of what is now Britain.

German is easier to read, I listen to some german songs and I am able to read the lyrics. French have complicated spelling pronunciation.

Both languages are difficult. I think one can say that they're on the same level. I find German easy peasy, however, because it's my native language. :-)
You may have some advantage with German as you already know English. There are some similarities, especially in the verb system. The pronunciation in German is easier than in French.
There are lots of language learning sites on the net. For example The basic course is free, you can pay for a course with more exercises.

I took French in college, but I think that Spanish would have been more useful in the US.

Don't speak the French language but I would prefer French over German. Sometimes German sounds a little harsh to me.
Good luck

Most of my German friends say German is really difficult to learn. I believe them, but I do like the language.
