~Their Missing It This Year~

My Youngest Daughter

I feel really bad because my children were all looking forward to Vacation Bible School at church. They have never been to it and they were excited for their first year. My youngest daughter is sick with something though-she has a fever of 101 and I don't want the other kids at church getting whatever she has. So, we haven't let any of them go. There is always next year... Of course my older two are not very happy about this, but they will get over it. Hopefully my youngest will feel better soon because she has been miserable with this for the last 2 days. (The picture is my youngest daughter & Julian)

Your kids are too cute! I hope your daughter gets better soon! Our friends' sons look forward to Vacation Bible School every year too - but the oldest is bummed he is now too old to attend.

@LovingMyBabies I know, a fever during the summer is no fun . But hope she feels better soon. If she gets better in the next couple days, would they still be able to go? I think our friend said their church only goes to age 10.

@much2say It's only for 2 more days and they already missed the first 2 days. I doubt she's going to be better by then. =(

@much2say Thank you so much! =) Thanks, I hope so too. She is so miserable. Oh that stinks-at our church they have VBS all the way through high school-of course they cater to the ages that they are.

Sad that this bug has interfered with their summer. We had a nasty bug go through here recently. Everyone in the family had a turn with it.

@koopharper I know-I hate bugs that go around like this. It is awful. =( I'm hoping it skips the rest of us but I will probably be the lucky one who gets it. Lol

I hope her fever subsides soon - I panicked when my kids had 99F fever when they were small...

@sishy7 I'm pretty used to fevers with having 4 kids. The only time I panic is when the medicine doesn't help it to go down and if it lasts more than a few days-or gets too high of course.

With illness you can't take the risk. If they're missing it then I am sure there is something fun they can do at home.

@pgiblett I'm sure I can come up with something fun for them. It's just hard because anything we do my youngest daughter will be left out since she's stuck on the couch.

@LovingMyBabies I suspect the trick is to find her things to do involving: 1) The Internet (and not homework) 2) The local neighbourhood - things she can do by walking or riding a bike (if she has one) 3) Helping her sister

That's a lovely photo, even though I had to crane my neck round to see it. Sorry the children are disappointed and I hope your youngest feels better soon.

@LovingMyBabies If you don't mind me asking, how many children do you have? I have two...a daughter and a son. My daughter is older, and she is such a great big sister to her brother, even now as teenagers!

You are wise to keep sick children at home to keep others from getting ill. I'm sure they are disappointed, but your daughter wouldn't feel well there even if you sent her. Hope she's better soon.
