Sex and age

When do you think is an 'appropriate' age to start having sex? Is there such a thing as being 'too old' to still be a virgin? There's a lot of stigma around this subject with people (women particularly) being called prudes if they're still virgins and considerably worse names if they have 'too much' sex. What are your opinions?

I think that the appropriate age varies from person to person. I think that how much or how little is not really significant either. Personally what others think of my personal life is not important because it is my life and well don't value everyone's opinion.

@OKennedy Exactly. I don't have an issue with people discussing the subject in general (or I wouldn't have made this post to start with), but people have a fascination with gossiping about others and judging them for things that really aren't anyone's business.

As long as someone is over the age of consent and within the law they should do whatever they want as much as they want and not worry what others think.
Or they should be able to not do something without being called a prude.

Even the age of consent differs from country to country and from culture to culture.

But these days it's hardly a private thing any more. Everyone talks about everything to their friends, and a lot of people post things like this on their facebook or their twitter. For a society so tied up in social media and over-sharing, we don't really TALK about things, we just share them

This is not a question that you can answer with a number as it is an individual choice. There is no such a thing as appropiate, although different cultures might have different views on this. For me, this is as useless as asking about the right age to get married.
