You can breath in and out of a paper bag. Or, dring water slowly. Or, have someone scare you.

I have always been told either hold your breath for like 30 seconds or so, have someone come from behind you and scare you, or to drink Warm salt water, and plug your nose while doing so? Maybe these are just old wives tales, but I know the holding your breath usually works best for me.

Holding your breath seems to be a winning remedy, because many of the responses that I have received have suggested this. Thanks-SS

G'Day! Yes - a teaspoon of sugar - no fluid is best!

You know I've heard that suggested somewhere else before. I have never tried it, but I think I just might. Nothing to lose[except the hiccups]and a sweet treat to gain Thanks-SS
