Do you know anything about FMLA?

Have you heard of FMLA, The Family & Medical Leave Act? Maybe it's just in Arizona, I'm not sure. It was recommended today that my hubby file for it. We don't really know anything about it, I guess we should research it. Do they have it in your area? Have you ever had to use it? I'd like to hear other people's experiences with it.

I'm not sure what it is, but my son was able to take paternity leave with pay when each child was born. I think it was for 6 or 8 weeks.

It's a law. I was on it for a while several years ago when I broke my right ankle.

We don't have that here, so Id say Its better to have such law for those who are salaried employee.

This is something available in all states it seems. One person we know works for a group that allows 12 weeks WITH PAY-which is wonderful. Many places do not pay you, but will give you leave.

It's a way for an employee to take time off of work because of a family medical emergency, or need.

@lilnana1111 I see, yes we have something similar. You can take time off work in some cases and family medical emergency is one of those cases.

I am not 100% sure what it is, we never used it, since I am a stay at home mom.
