catching a train in time...

I have seen many people reaching a station with a running when the train is about to leave the platform. Is it not dangerous.? Can't you reach the station a little bit earlier keeping aside all your unimportant things aside or doing your important things at home a little bit earlier? Though I can not call them 'LAZY WIZARDS', what they lack is proper planning. They will be taking everything for granted. They do not plan properly. I always suggest the following points while taking a journey on rail; 1. First free yourself after your lunch or dinner . If you are travelling with family let them finish their jobs quickly; 2. check your bag and baggage if everything is arranged properly or not; 3. check all the ticket or tickets once again and see if the passport /s are safely kept for your onward journey along with the keys of the other rooms inside the house. 4. see that all the power switches are off 5. verify your lunch boxes or packets 6. Check up once again for the i.D Cards 7.Cover all the furniture with plastic sheets to avoid the falling of dust in your absence 8.Verify whether your shoes are proper or not. If there is anything is not proper with the heel, strap or any other part immediately replace them. 9. Check whethr the zippers and handles of the luggage are proper or not. If not, get them repaired well in advance. 10. Get the wheel of the bag are properly working or not. if not, get them replaced. 11. just a day before leaving and an hour before leaving for the station folow the news carefully and see if there are any Dharnas, strikes , traffic diversions, or any prohibitory orders in the areas leading to the Railway station. If there are, prepare yourself with appropriate transport arrangements 12. Try to avoid wearing gold ornaments as far as possible. Try to avoid wearing a bracelet (irrespective of the metal) as it may prove sometimes dangerous clinging to something in the moving train. It may sometimes lead to loss of life also. Avoid it. Similarly avoid wearing very loose fitting clothes as they may cling to some hooks or clamps while getting into a moving (if it is inevitable) train at any other stations. 13. Try to be on the platform of a Railway station at least half an hour before the departure of the train. Try to reach the station preferring appropriate mode of transport ie., by engaging a taxi, cab, motorbike (if you are single), goods carrier (if necessary in the case of taking a marriage party along with you). 14. Tell your family members not to catch a running train in panic if they get down at any station. Tell them to remain there only and they would be picked up by another transport or by pulling a chain (if it is inevitable). 15. Tell them to be vigilant and observe each and every one as a responsible citizen and to inform the concerned authorities if anybody is catches your attention for suspicion.

A movie? I have not seen that. I have seen DDLJ. Even in that movie also the last is shown with absurdity...No...? running and catching the hand of hero and finally parents waving their hands at the couple.Do such things happen in life? Of course, we take it as a movie only.

Train travel is not that common in the part of the country where I live. I do not think this scenario can happen here. I would love to take a train trip for fun sometime though. I do agree that however we travel we do not want to look like someone who is easy to rob, and we do not want clothes and jewelry that can cause us injury.
