Long Hair Not Good Idea For Summer

On June 5, I posted a post about letting my hair grow long. Today I got a haircut. Short hair again. I decided long hair wasn’t a good idea for summer. Now my brother can no longer say I “look like one of those Democrats.”
When I told the stylist I wanted it all cut off she asked, “Cut it all off?”
I told her, “Yes, It’s just too much for this time of the year.”
Actually this summer has been cooler than the last two summers. The hottest it’s been this year is ninety-four degrees Fahrenheit (34.4º C). Last year and the year before we had several days that were 100º Fahrenheit (38º C) and hotter.
Anyway by the time winter rolls around my hair will be fairly long again. Just in time for the cold weather.

The hottest it's supposed to get here is about 95º. Then It supposed to start cooling cool down on Saturday and by Sunday drop down to around 80º for at least for next week.

@sallypup The sun is shining bright here, too. It's just not as hot.

I had to get a hair cut (actually I got them all cut) for the same reason. It's just too darn hot, especially with Monsoon humidity, to have long hair. I wanted to shave it!

I thought about having it cut down to where it was about an eighth of an inch long but I don't like the way I look with that short of haircut.

It was down to my shoulders. I suppose I could have made a small ponytail but I wouldn't put it in a ponytail. I think most guys look somewhat stupid wearing their hair in a ponytail–especially one of those small little ones. And I most certainly would not have a man bun.

@RichardMeister I've seen tasteful ponytails on guys - but then again I've seen tasteless too. Oh those man buns - again, some can wear them, some just shouldn't!

@much2say I don't think neither one would look good on me. Or I should say they would look good on me in my opinion. I don't know what anyone else would think, but I would never wear either.
I was thinking about what I said about my hair being shoulder length. That might mean something different than I meant. My hair was long enough to touch my shoulders. It didn't go clear down over my shoulders.

@RichardMeister shoulder length is indeed long and how short is it now?

@toniganzon It is as short as it is in my photo.

It was shoulder length. It was also getting in my face on windy days. I guess it could have been styled but I just didn't want to deal with it, especially when the summer was heating up.

i've been trying to grow my hair because i was planning on having it curled/permed. but every time summer rolled around, i would give up because of the heat and have it cut again.

@RichardMeister it's maddening because i couldn't even gather it into a decent ponytail because my hairline at the back is really low.

The heat tends to make a person do whatever to keep cool.

For summer, I prefer a shorter hair. But still depends on the weather condition. Here in my country it always hot during summer (From March - May). So I prefer really short hair.

The heat has been brutal this year. I tie my hair up in a knot and off my neck everyday. Your brother would really worry about your political leanings if you did that :))

@suziecat7 I've never liked the way a man bun looks. I feel like I want the knock that knob right off the man's head!

He certainly would. The only thing is I do not like the way a man bun looks so I wouldn't do that.

After the last 2 hot summers it's great to have one that's a bit cooler.
