This is a personal issues.Cremate or Bury?
We have chosen cremation. But it is inexpensive.
Save money. Not to be tricked in buying expensive add-ons
This is a personal issue with people and families
I know most of you are still young here.Have no thoughts on this.
Our ashes will stay in our homestead here.
I know that this not a good subject to talk about.
But we have to be realistic

I actually do think about this at times. I know I will not be in the body anymore but I just cannot have myself burned into ashes-I hate heat and so I have to be buried. I know it sounds silly but its just not me to be cremated.

Always a tough issue, but I do not think I would want to be stuck in one place. Probably cremated and ashes thrown in the ocean or something. Could end up in many places that way.

I've told my family if they put me in the ground I would haunt them forever. I want my ashes spread around the Adirondack Mountains and if anyone need to be near me, they can enjoy mother nature at the same time.

Cremation is the only way to "go."

My husband and I have decided on cremation as well. Our sons know our wishes.

Cremation. I find cemeteries rather barbaric and creepy.

I have decided I want to be cremated and turned into a tree. I think that is the best way to go. I don't see the use of rotting in a box in the ground when I can give life to a big beautiful tree one day.

I prefer to be cremated; however, I don´t like the idea of cremation, but i don´t like to be buried either.
I had thought on throwing myself to the ocean when the time comes; however, I don´t know if I´m going to have the time to do this or I will just shut my eyes and leave.

I don't think it's a bad idea for even young people to consider these arrangements. Accidents and unexpected medical events can and do happen, and it's better to have everything taken care of.
I think we'll end up going the same route as you. No sense in going all-out when there are more important things the money can go toward. I figure I'll tell the kids to pick out a place to install a memorial bench or something of the sort that can benefit a lot of people if they want a physical place to remember us.

I bought a Purple Cross burial plan back in the 1980s. It is now worth a little over $9,600. I paid a little over $5,200 for it. Made payments on it for about 6 years.

@amadeo I think its a good alternative. I don't see the point of to spending money we don't have burying people we don't plan to visit the graves. I think we make better use if we just let our remains go to a better use like using our tissue to experiment and see what happens before then come up with a cure possible side effects etc or who knows maybe the skin can be used to do skin graphs on people who were burn victims or something like that.

First off, I would start by donating what organs I could; if I don't need them any more, someone else might as well make use of them, right?
Secondly, I want the rest of my remains to be cremated. Burial plots take up so much room, and aren't even as permanent as they're made out to be (graveyards get cleared every few decades or so to make room for new graves).
However, instead of having my ashes spread in any particular way or place (except maybe as a firework because that's just an awesome way to do it), I want to be buried in one of those tree urns. They mix your ashes with the soil in a biodegradable earn that holds a sapling, so as the tree grows you become a part of it. This gives back to the environment, and creates its own marker of your resting place that generations of family can go to visit.
