SyFy Channel unleashes shark movie premieres building up to the new "Sharknado," Mother of Mercy, is no body of water safe from hungry sharks not even the frozen Arctic? "Ice Sharks"! These babies can smash through ice. A man takes no notice of a huge shadow beneath the frozen ice until the shark explodes out of the ice and chomps a leg in a very gory scene. The shark flops around until smashing back into the watery depths.
A research station is built to withstand harsh weather elements but not circling sharks working as a team breaking up the ice. The structure is submerged into the water and sinks to the bottom leaving trapped occupants with a day's supply of air.
The movie follows their attempts to escape and of course sharks pick them off one by one. There are problems with "Ice Sharks." Cast is bland and unappealing. Story is dull with long boring stretches with scant shark action. "Ice Sharks" takes itself too seriously lacking any humor not even the unintended. The movie lacks fun cheesy quality.
