I’m quite concerned. I really don’t know what to write about!
Yesterday was really quite a waste. The south coast of England is one of the busiest parts, particularly in the tourist season, particularly in fine weather, and particularly on Fridays. So, given these facts, why did we travel 36 miles along the coast to visit friends? I really can’t tell you! It must have taken us about four hours on the road to do a there-and-back journey of 72 miles, so we spent a longer time sitting in traffic queues than we did with our friends. What’s more, the lunch was delicious, but it well and truly blew the diet my daughter and I are meant to be on. Perhaps there are no calories when you’re eating out with friends? Perhaps they’re all consumed in the general bonhomie? One can always hope!
It was great to see our friends, though, and we even managed to salvage things after we discovered we’d voted opposite ways in the Europe referendum. Well, my friend and I have stayed in touch ever since we sat next to each other, aged four, on our first day at school, so it would be tragic to fall out now. After all, they’ve said they’ll have our (so far theoretical) dog when we go on holiday in the future!
So, what have I been doing today? Not a lot! Mainly sitting in front of my PC wondering what to write about. Oh, and my daughter dragged me out on a walk to burn off some calories. Those pesky calories!
Come to think of it, I do seem to have found something to write about – nothing!
How do you find inspiration?
