"Just add Freon"

If I had $40 free right now I'd be running over to pick up this portable air conditioner I found on Craigslist. It would be great for those days when it's too humid for the swamp cooler.
The ad says "Blows fine, but I have no idea about adding freon. Sells for $300 new."
I want to supply the $40, go to the local auto parts store, buy some AC coolant, and recharge that little beauty!
I'm sure the deal will blow away before I can do that. In two weeks, maybe I can find another one. Isn't it amazing what you can pick up if you just know a little about maintenance?
