For the last three years or so I have been with out cable TV. Not because I can not afford it but more or less it was to cut costs on things that I really did not need.
I started using XBMC now Kodi to watch my movies that I own and got in to some of the 3rd party addons for streaming live TV and other things around the time I cut the cable cord.
It seems like in the last three or four years companies are realizing that us the customers don’t want to pay these over priced cable and dish companies to watch there shows and have started offering streaming services.
I know I use a few streaming services for my pro wrestling and MMA needs. WWE Network for well the WWE, NJPW World for stuff from New Japan, Highspots Wrestling Network for some Indy stuff and shoot interviews, UFC’s Fight Pass, and then there are a few Indy feds out of the UK that I am thinking about signing up for.
KissAnime, Crunchy Roll and Funimation for my anime needs.
Again Kodi for my tv, movie and other sports needs.
Yeah my internet bill is a little higher now but with more streaming I knew that was going to happen.
What streaming services do you guys and gals use?

I don't use them, but we also cut the cable. Which is a bummer because hockey season will be here before you know it.

@teamfreak16 I think NHL has a streaming service. *goes to look it up* Yeah nhl.tv . It's $24.99, not sure if that is just for the off season or if it would be for reg season as well. Only down side is if you want to watch local teams then it's a no go because of blackouts but there's all ways a way around that, at least on computers.

@TigerMask81 -Yeah, I'll watch any game, but my objective is to watch the Avalanche, which would be blacked out.

@teamfreak16 a VPN would help with the black outs. There are payed ones and then there are free ones like VPNBOOK. It spoofs your IP location. For ex. VPNBook's US services my show your IP is comeing from New York, so Avalanche games would be good to watch, Rangers, Sabres and Islanders games would be blacked out....until you turned off the VPN. If the NHL streaming is like the MLB's then blacked out games would be up to watch in 24 to 48 hrs of the live game.

The only thing cable and satellite are good for is sports, and maybe premium channels like HBO. That is also one of the reasons they are so expensive. Sports has just become greedy and am to the point I do not even want to watch them on TV or live.

@TigerMask81 True, Disney straight robs people. I also agree and I have seen so many companies start to try their own streaming service like PlayStation and even CBS. That seems where the market is heading and all these companies are trying to catch the wave.

@crossbones27 to to sound like I am defending the cable and satellite companies, because I think they are screwing there customers over a lot of times, but they have to charge us higher prices for sports and premium channels because the parent companies like Viacom and Disney (who own ESPN) want a lot of money from the cable and satellite providers and we the customers footing that extra money when the prices get jacked up.
Now it seems with more people cutting cable those companies are losing some money and know since more people are streaming stuff they have to offer a streaming service.
For me I have no problem paying lats say $15 per month for HBO Go to watch my favorite HBO shows, I don't have HBO Go just using them as an example, rather then paying what ever cable prices are now a days.
Now with Kodi and some 3rd party addons I can watch most of the shows and channels I use to and only have to worry about paying for my internet .

I have probably not had cable for fifteen years. I do not watch much of anything. I have Amazon Prime. I figure instead of sitting around watching stuff I might like to do stuff. It does not always work out that way, but I find plenty to do without cable. I know eventually it will disappear.

I never had my own Netflix account. All ways used a friends account. Either payed the friend half the cost for a month or gave them my information on what ever streaming site they wanted to check out if I had an account. I really need to find out if there is a streaming service for Asian or cult films.

I do have cable but only in the living room and in our bedroom we use hulu and netflix. For christmas I wanting an xbox gaming console because you can run hulu and netflix as well xfinity on demand (which is our cable provider) and if that is the case I may just cancel cable and keep only the internet service.

After cutting cable I wondered why more people haven't cut cable. If one has internet you have all most every thing right at your finger tips. More so now with most stations, like ABC, CBS ,NBC , HBO, Showtime, etc offering streaming services now. Want news one can pick up a good antenna and get local news and local ABC, CBS, NBC, etc over the air. Heck my lap top is hooked up to my tv so it's just the same as if I had cable all most.
