Why do good things happen to people who are selfish?

It's true.It's unfair to peope who are unselfish.

My friend also asks the same question. He is not having any single bad habit and very God fearing. He will be short of money always. Asks me showing at some people "see...how they are going in that costly car. They do not have education, culture or anything.But, God has given them sufficient and more money. Why he is not giving us". What can I reply?
