Kids are done with few exams..ready to gear up for the next one...does the marks really matter..

Being mother of a kid..All the year round piled up with never ending exams..I always wonder does the marks in the exams matter really.
In my thinking the knowledge is what matters rather than the marks on the paper.Many times its just the silly mistakes which makes the marks drop.
Let me know your thoughts..

Good grades matter but it is more important for them to actually be learning and not just memorizing the information to pass the exam. School nowadays is more just pass the exams and not comprehending or retaining the information to use later in life. It is mostly just trying to pass the students on to get rid of them faster or at least in my town's school system it is.
